My name is Jenny Scales, and I’m currently a third year Illustration student at Pratt Institute. My interests also lie in graphic design, photography, and advertising. I enjoy experimenting with different media and techniques. As a result, my work usually ends up being an integration of both illustration and design. I’d like to focus my work towards making zines, freelancing, graphic novels, and children’s books- but really I’m up for anything. I’m very excited to be working with okellydesign for this spring semester, and am looking forward to seeing how the design field works. At okellydesign I’m interested in working on branding projects among other things, and getting first hand experience of working with real clients. When I’m not working on projects I’m either giving into some embarrassing tv addictions, hanging out with friends, or discovering new music.

Hi. My name is Sharmini. pronounced like harmony, but with an ‘s’ in front of it. I was born and raised in Malaysia but have been living in Brooklyn. NY for the past 4 years. I design and illustrate things that are detailed oriented, intricate while trying to maintain a clean and simple aesthetic. I love pigs, pugs, patterns, packaging, and printmaking. 

I think working with okellydesign will be a great experience as I would get to see how things work in a smaller studio setting. I am really looking forward to the branding and identity projects and learning how they come together, especially with the clients in the picture. Seeing the dynamics of design and how it works in ‘real life’ (opposed to purely in a classroom environment) will be really great.
