Clarendon Properties are a large property company based on Clarendon Street in the heart of Dublin. They are known for renovating old buildings to a high modern specification for use as shopping centres and offices. They approached Xmi to design an identity better reflecting their business and to be primarily used in its legal and financial correspondence. I worked on the re-design as part of the design team in Xmi, primarily on the typesetting, colour palette and stationery system.

The new mark alludes to the heritage of its buildings while also having a contemporary feel to it. The use of Gill Sans in the logotype follows through on this concept, being a classic typeface which was confidently typeset in an eye-catching manner, encapsulating the spirit and ethos of this company.

The new identity was implemented across a new stationery suite for Clarendon. The architectural qualities of the identity are used to full effect to arrange the company’s details. The square element of the identity is brought to the fore as the body type is run from it. The stationery was printed on Zeta Wove, a beautiful uncoated paper, on which the spot grey ink came alive and reinforced the niche high-quality work for which Clarendon are known.
