Acumen Fund is a non-profit venture philantropic organisation (for an expanded introduction, please see the Acumen Fund brochure page). The folder was designed and created to hold the growing number of printed pieces which I had also designed for Acumen Fund, primarily for use at their quarterly investor update conferences. It was required to be both minimal but also giving a strong sense of the organisation and its work.

The final design employed bold colour fields and a photography reel along the bottom third, rendering it both eye-catching and engaging. The images are drawn from Acumen Funds extensive photo library (many taken by Magnum photographer Susan Meisalas) and highlight each area and country of their work. The interior features a flood of Acumen Fund Grey and a knocked out guide to the images and the investments they represent. The folder was printed on the beautiful Monadnock PC100 (100%recycled paper) stock in CMYK.

I was tasked with creating a system of one-sheets that would comprehensively inform their investors about Acumen Fund itself, each country of operation and finally, each area of focus, numbering 10 in total. Their initial content was shaped and guided to a final point where it was both succinct and easily updatable in each country (East Africa, India and Pakistan). A strong, classic typographic system was employed to lead the pieces and ensure easy accessiblity to reasonably dense information pieces. Each sheet was designed using the relevant colour which I had assigned it whilst creating the brand standards.

I did all design and pre-press on both the folder and the one-sheet system, and both were done while working with MSDS.
